Dear CyVerse User,
As we approach the conclusion of our core U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) funding which enabled iPlant/CyVerse to provide advanced cyberinfrastructure capabilities to over 125,000 users for 16 years, we want to ensure that upcoming changes will not disrupt the current and future research, workshops, and training that rely on CyVerse infrastructure.
Starting March 1, 2025, we will begin to enforce data storage quotas and limits on all Basic (free) and paid subscription accounts as part of our financial sustainability model.
If your personal account or your project data storage exceeds your allocated quota, please back up or download your data from the CyVerse Data Store before this date. On March 1, 2025, data exceeding your storage quota will be removed. Deleted data are not recoverable.
- To review your data usage, please log in at https://de.cyverse.org/dashboard.
- To review our data policies, see https://cyverse.org/policies/data
- To purchase a higher tier subscription or more data storage, go to https://cyverse.org/subscribe.
Owners of Community Released data and CyVerse-curated (Data Commons) will be contacted directly by email regarding their data quota status and treatment of these datasets.
Paid subscribers and currently funded federal and state awards with CyVerse continue to receive full support from CyVerse and will not see any change. If you are unable to download your data or have extenuating circumstances, please reach out to CyVerse support (support@cyverse.org).
External Partnerships and CyVerse Professional Services are also available to support educators and new research proposals. CyVerse cyberinfrastructure powers multiple Synthesis Centers and AI Institutes, cumulatively representing hundreds of millions of dollars in public research in the Life, Earth, and Health sciences. CyVerse continues to support in-person and virtual classrooms to teach next generation data science and AI skills to the workforce of tomorrow; visit our Learning Center to find out more or email us to discuss federal grant opportunities for your research or educational use of CyVerse.
If you have any questions about partnering with CyVerse, its services or subscriptions, please contact us at info@cyverse.org.
Sincerely,
Team CyVerse
