CyVerse plays role in new NSF center, Environmental Data Science Innovation and Inclusion Lab (ESIIL), that will advance, broaden and catalyze environmental data science.

We are thrilled to announce that CyVerse is a foundational partner in a five-year, $20 million center funded by the National Science Foundation’s Directorate for Biological Sciences called the Environmental Data Science Innovation and Inclusion Lab (ESIIL, pronounced "easel").

We are grateful for the partnerships with the University of Colorado Boulder and the University of Oslo. ESIIL enables a global community of environmental data scientists to leverage the wealth of environmental data and emerging analytics to develop science-based solutions to pressing challenges in biology and other environmental sciences. ESIIL holds inclusion as a core principle and method for diversifying environmental data science at a time when society needs all perspectives, and science needs to inform all solutions.
